Zaena Morisho who is an African Pop singer and songwriter has certainly made her way into the industry with an interesting style of music. She was born in the DR Congo, but raised in Houston TX which is a huge jump in location, but a fascinating story. By the age of 8 she began singing in a community choir where she learned to develop her voice as an artist. As the years went by of development she released her EP “You Don’t Know” which includes the hit single “Ur Love”. the popular song has amassed over a million views on YouTube in just under 4 months.
Partner up with Hit Record Only” working on her new music, she has released a brand new single entitled “Be Alone” and co-songwriter Dewayne Ferrell. This particular record gives us a mixture of genre’s from Hip Hop, R&B,Electronic, and Pop. Most importantly the message within the song catches you instantly including a catchy hook to remember.

How many songs /albums have you released to date?
At first I released about 15 singles and I made it an album, one of the song was “Ur Love” which got very popular to my African fans. To me this 15 singles, which turned out to be an album, was like a development to me, I started music professionally in 2012 when just graduated my bachelor degree. In 2014 I partnered with “Billberg Entertainment” we worked on one EP “You Don’t Know” and one Xmas single “Candle”. I will say that I had very good result. “You don’t know” and “Gimme All Your Love” was on the independent charts plus on top chart 200 USA! Follow up with the Xmas single “Candle” which also was on the top 20 independent charts, etc. In my Ep I only wrote one song which is “Play My song” but the rest I collab with different songwriters.
Can you tell us about your latest release and the background and inspirations behind it?
my latest “One Thing” was produced by James Worthy, which includes influences of Reggae, R&B, & Hip-Hop, and Recording / mixing by Hit Records Only. This song its inspirational song, that everyone can dance to, and have a great time for the new years. She wrote this song to encourage everyone for the future. The song is fun, classical, relatable, entertaining, and very influential. The video was directed and produced by Keitaro cloward and we drivel about 2hrs and half to the desert to shoot “One Thing” our idea was for me to be on the desert, very simple sexy but class. We had very much fun shooting the video.
How have you ended up in the music industry?
I always loved music and I knew at young age that will do music as profession but i wanted to finish my bachelor degree first before i start doing it, so when I graduated in 2012 that when I started.
What do you think of the music industry in 2016?
I see social media taking over even more than now, and maybe no one will want to get signed anymore.
Who do you think the most influential artist?
Beyonce! I love the fact that she knows who she is and she is a very hard working person and so so discipline in everything she do. I think every artist should have this quality to be a great entertainer.
Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?
I haven’t being doing so much collaboration yet but starting soon.
How do you think you differ from other artists?
I think every artist is different and I know that I’m different because I use my own identity on my music. always do what others don’t and at list just be yourself that the key to be a great artist.

Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?
“Be Alone” is my next single. This single is kind different, this one is influences of Rock pop, pop, some hip-hop. I collab with Dewayne Ferrell the writing on this song, this song is all about a girl singing of her guy who is so into her and how much he told her that he doesn’t want to be alone.
What’s in the pipeline after this project?
I will be releasing new music every two month.
