The Sharp Shadows – Push Push Push

Energetic Brooklyn power-poppers The Sharp Shadows have released a video for Push Push Push, the first single off their soon-to-be-released sophomore album, Lessons.

The video, directed by Japanese animator Maiko Kikuchi, is a gleefully off-beat explosion of fever dream imagery, realized as cut-out animation that sees a determined scientist struggling to save a zoo from a doomed planet Earth. The frenetic energy of the video matches that of the song, blasting through two verses of energetic buildup. The bridge is rocketed through the roof when guest singer, The Royal They’s Michelle Hutt, comes in as the song’s aggravated protagonist imploring an impatient partner that they “have to wait to get the answers/Not just the words that you want to hear.” At a hair over 2 minutes, the song is done and the earth is destroyed, begging for a replay to do it all again.
