The Mean Times – Miss Damascus 2008

The Mean Times present the visuals for their new single, ‘Miss Damascus 2008’

Melbourne band, The Mean Times create infectious, high-energy rock and roll with a let-loose-and-party attitude. Their sound is a pastiche of indie cool with sharp, scuzzy riffs and catchy pop choruses, all delivered with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and a hell of a lot of swagger.

Their latest single, ‘Miss Damascus 2008’, is a distinct departure from the classical Mean Times sound and subject matter. An epic, orchestral rock song featuring strings, horns and keys, this track comments on racism, selfishness and pretending you care about things happening in less fortunate parts of the world, when all you only really care about is yourself.

In true iso style, the video for ‘Miss Damascus 2008’ was produced by a guy The Mean Times met on the internet. It uses lego stop-motion animation to tell the story of the band using rock and roll to save the world from virus infecting aliens. Check it out here:
