Check out this music review of, ‘Renew Me’ released by D.T.C (Dedicated To Christ)

Hip-hop music has amazing potential. It could be a voice for the voiceless, and a way for artists to tell stories, express ideas, and share beliefs. This is exactly what’s happening with the new release titled ‘Renew Me’ by Christian Rap Group D.T.C (Dedicated To Christ).

This gospel rap project has a sound that brings back the melodies, tone, feel and vibes of the golden age of rap music. Yet, it also has a deeper lyrical meaning

This beautiful piece of music shares Christian values with the audience, establishing a timeless message of hope and understanding. This track also comes at a very good time, since we are so close to Christmas. For this reason, the lyrics and message behind this song hold an even more special meaning, as we are all eager to reflect on life and faith at this particular time. “D.T.C.” has an important message, and a very strong sense of identIty. In addition to that, the music they make is actually a true killer.

Artist Bios:

DAZ (Audric Daziel Madera)
Raised in Washington Heights, NY, the oldest of 5. After a poverty-stricken adolescence filled with gang banging and drug dealing, his mother moved them to Connecticut where he was able to see there was a world bigger than the concrete blocks of the Heights. To escape the world of pain and crime that he knew, he joined the Navy and served honorably for 6 years. During this time, he came to learn about God but unfortunately, not having the right guidance, he turned his back on God and religion for the next 10 years. October 1, 2017, God called Daz back to the flock in a strong way and there’s been no looking back since.

Nelz (Nelson Estrada)
Born and raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the oldest of 7, in an era before gentrification, life was no cakewalk to say the least. Jumble that up with mental illness and life really was no laughing matter. All was dark…but then God!!! God showed up with the Light and the rest is history.

D.T.C (Dedicated To Christ)
Through their Pastor, Daz and Nelz were introduced at The Hope Mission Church (Kissimmee, FL) during its Christmas Gala, December of 2017. Realizing their love for hip hop and for the gospel, Daz and Nelz quickly became best friends and the music ministry God placed in Daz’s heart was born, D.T.C (Dedicated To Christ) in January of 2018. Since then, DTC has not only written new music but have also gone on to participate in outreach events hosted by The Hope Mission church, sharing their testimonies of how God saved them from a life of darkness and gave them a new chance to develop into the great men of God that they were purposed to become.

Through new fellowships and friendships that have developed through 2018, D.T.C has been able to record their debut single and EP at Groves Recording and Sound with Joseph Groves (One-Third of The Groves Family Ministry); perform at The Verb in Altamonte Springs, FL, a Christian Open Mic event hosted by Crescendo; and recently at the My Way event, hosted at Champions of Faith International Church in Orlando, FL. D.T.C are ready to move forward boldly however God has planned in 2019.
