Introducing ‘H.S. Botha’
Sean is a South African born multi-media artist. He grew up in Stellenbosch, Johannesburg and Pretoria. Sean was heavily influenced by the South African music industry during his formative years. His love for the stage was inspired by the Afrikaans and English authors and poets, Ingrid Jonker, C.J. Langenhoven, Shakespeare and Robert Frost. His love for telling stories, sharing his life experiences and shaping a piece of music has always, in some way, been shaped by his family travels throughout the Cape Province, Karoo and other remote locations along the South African coast, especially the west coast. He is currently creating soundscapes and soundtracks that are suited to film and television projects.
Sean works with sound, silence and that which we cannot reach physically or aurally beyond earth’s borders. He carefully places sound objects in his music which makes every piece an experience for the listener. Sean has a passion for everything creative. He loves getting lost in a good story and understanding how connection is created in a story arch. His ability to critique and create connections is eccentric and provocative at times. It explains why he is currently working towards having his music placed in feature films and other multimedia platforms. His music can currently be found on Spotify, SoundCloud and iTunes.
