Afrika Tha Poet a young Nashville artist on the rise. The Native began pursuing a music career at the at a young age. The poet is advancing in his talent and craft everyday for people who enjoy music.
Where are you from?
I am from Nashville,TN. I grew up in North Nashville.
How long have you been making music?
I have been making music since I was 16 years old. I’m 22 now and have seen the growth in my art.
How many songs /albums have you released to date?
It various. I have a lot of old songs on soundcloud and ones that I made way back when I was 16.
Can you tell us about your latest release and the background and inspirations behind it?
My latest release is a song called BLOOD. The song was released on soundcloud and youtube. BLOOD was inspired by pain and wanting to fuse it into lyric socerey. I have a history of self harm and really wanted to express that energy in a different way.
How have you ended up in the music industry?
This closest I believe I got to the music industry is in 2019. I won a competition with MakinMag and for free I got to perform for Hustle Gang A&R. I was an awesome experience.
What do you think of the music industry in 2020?
I would like to learn more about the deals they have to offer artist and that would like to use their platform. I also want to explore writing for the music industry and how does that process work.
Who do you think the most influential artist?
Today I would say alit of major artist that everyone knows about but to name a few. Trippie Redd
XXXTENTACION and so on.
Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?
So far I haven’t collaborated with anyone but would like to collab with Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and LiL Wayne.
How do you think you differ from other artists?
I try to stay focus on my brand and not try to do what anyone else is doing.
Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?
Tupac and Biggie Smalls.

What’s your favourite song at the moment?
Today my favorite song is Blood by Afrika Tha Poet.
If you had to sell your music collection tomorrow, what album would you leave in your draw?
I don’t have an album yet, but the song I would keep is this song I made called Sekhmet.
What is your favourite saying?
“A wizard is never late his arrives precisely when he needs to.”
I like this saying but working in fast food your gonna be late.
What other hobbies or interests do you have?
I like to go for walks in nature. I love to do puzzles and watch Arthur sometimes. I love writing poetry and meditating I am currently skateboarding and that’s awesome.
Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
Yes. I have a tattoo on my left wrist called BLOOD SPIDER. I have a tattoo my right wrist if my future Queen and on my left shoulder I have the continent Africa in the shape of animals tatted on me.
Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?
A song I am currently working on is called BUZZ and on this song I will work on my speed.
What’s in the pipeline after this project?
I plan to make more music.
