Anna Guterman is a singer and songwriter with a penchant for honest lyrics, intimate songs, and beautiful melodies. Her music combines the intimacy of folk, with the charming vibes of acoustic music and indie-pop.
Anna’s voice is soothing and lush, echoing the sound of singers such as as Joni Mitchell, Johanna Warren, or Cat Power, only to mention a few. More importantly, her lyrics use words much like a painter uses colors to portray vivid imagery. Words flow together, not only bonding through meaning, but also through assonance and melody.
There is a sense of poetry which really rules supreme over Anna’s song writing, making her music ethereal, beautiful and at times a bit mysterious. Most of her song writing comes from a very personal place, including finding inspiration in the beauty of the world around her.
