wilm.9 excited to present his new release: Long Dark Night (Demo)
Embracing the new-age of hip-hop and emo-rap in the United States, wilm.9 is keeping his name out there in the contemporary music scene. He is paving his way to the top of the alternative emo-rap scene with each successful release while blending elements of hip-hop, emo-rap with aspects of chopped and screwed. One of his latest singles ‘Long Dark Night’ is a great example of that.
This song essentially refers to the long, dark night of the soul which some people suffer at various times throughout their life. It often refers to an existential crisis and/or a dark period of spiritual drought which leaves the individual feeling alone and abandoned by God. During this time, the individual may have an overwhelming drive to escape from his or her daily life and seek new horizons. According to Joseph Campbell, “The dark night of the soul comes just before revelation. When everything is lost, and all seems darkness, then comes the new life and all that is needed.”
The song perfectly portrays his creative skills and establishes his aura and personality. This signature style of captivating the listeners can be noticed in other musical releases by this artist such as ‘Way Beyond The Blue’, ‘Dissociate’, ‘Eternal’ and many others.
