The song itself, is a minor tragedy and a cautionary tale in the form of a lush work of art. The story is as old as anything, a man is nowhere near ready for the depth and complexity of real love until it’s too late and he’s lost the only woman he’ll ever want. The music itself is a metaphor. The driving, four on the floor feel is the persistence of his regret, the soaring melodies are the beauty he can see and remember, but never grasp, the heavily layered vocals are the voices in his head that he can never escape…all that and you can dance to it!
