Richard “Rick Junior” Davis was born on March 14, 1988, on the south side of Chicago, in Illinois. He became interested in music at a very young age. Inspired by his father, Richard “Rick Gilla” Garrett, who pursued a career in music, and other artists like Jay-Z and Eminem. That inspiration gave him the will to began rapping at the age of 5 years old. However, it wasn’t until his early adolescent years did Rick Junior began perfecting his craft. In 2008, he was signed to an independent label called YBI. Soon after, he released his first album titled “Champion”. Shortly after, due to differences, he made the decision to depart from his then label YBI. However, the slight draw back did not stop him from continuing his pursuit in music. In 2011, he dropped a mix tape titled “Smooth Criminal”. Not only is he an independent artist, but he pursued other ventures that included engineering, ghost writing, and entrepreneurship
