Monica H Thomas is an entrepreneur who has been signed to FloodDaBlock Ent. for about three months. In that time she has dropped four new music singles such as “Pillar Pay’n Homage”, “Still Standing”, “Before you Ball” & “Don’t Bury Me”!

How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for about five months or so
How many songs /albums have you released to date?
I’ve made about seventeen songs so far. Thirteen songs I made while I was on my own. Then when Geek – The Hot signed me to FloodDaBlock Ent. I’ve released four new music singles so far with their music company. There’s several others that haven’t been released. You’ll have to wait till my mixtape “The Struggle over Grind” comes out to hear those!
Can you tell us about your latest release and the background and inspirations behind it?
My latest release called “Don’t Bury Me”! I was going through some things and I thought what better way to get things off my chest but by writing about it!
How have you ended up in the music industry?
I first started writing Poetry. Then I got a little more creative with it by adding an instrumental to it. Each time I put the two together the better it turned out. Rap is poetry!
What do you think of the music industry in 2016?
It’s very competitive. It’s really a struggle to be heard . There’s millions of other music artists out there plus more and more newcomers comin on board. In my position I’m thinking what could I do to get noticed and also be able to stand out amongst the rest. Therefore when you listen to my music you’ll notice right from the jump its different.
Who do you think the most influential artist?
I believe some of the big names such as Drake, Mills, Jay-Z, Ross & Geek – The Hot ! Those are the ones that is a immediate stand out to me!
Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?
No one so far I’m sad to say. But hey I’m a newcomer so that explains it!
How do you think you differ from other artists?
My music is a lot different from the other artists out there and I’m quite sure my image is as well.
Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?
My dream callob would be with Mills, Ross, Jay-Z and Asap Ferg, Drake.
What was the first album you bought?
I believe it was Notorious Big. I loved that song “Juicy” especially but he had some really great hits out in the 90’s !
What’s your favourite song at the moment?
It’s so many out there until I can’t really say! I love all kinds music.
If you had to sell your music collection tomorrow, what album would you leave in your draw?
Actually it would be a song called “All the Way Up”!
What is your favourite saying?
It’s a spiritual saying, “No weapons formed against me shall prosper!” I live by it!
What other hobbies or interests do you have?
When I’m not doing anything I love to be either to myself or spend fun outting time with my kids.
Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
I have two tattoos one is a butterfly on my neck. I also have a clawing panther on my left arm. I have two piercings a tongue ring and above my top lip is pierced as well.
Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?
“The Struggle over Grind” is the name of my mixtape I’m getting ready to drop soon. It consists of 10 songs, one is a bonus track that is called “Diamond in the Rut”. I dedicated that song to a neighborhood teenager that was recently killed.
What’s in the pipeline after this project?
I have much in-store for the future and like I said my mixtape “The Struggle over Grind” comes out soon.

Thanks for posting Notorious Big video with my interview. It brings back so many memories. My dad had been on drugs most of our childhood. When Biggy came out with this song my dad was just getting his life together. I remember we was all riding in the car and he put this song and he told his girlfriend at the time to listen to this and he turned up the stereo. He especially like the beginning of the song Where it says this album is dedicated to all the teachers who said he’ll never amount to nothing. My dad at the time was living up stairs in a two story apartment that my family owned at the time. We lived this… I can relate.
