Kate Magdalena introducing brand new single: Downtown
May 2020 – Kate Magdalena is a singer and songwriter based in San Francisco, California. She is back on the scene with a brand new song named “Downtown.” When you think of a busy downtown district, a few images come to mind. The crowded streets, the headlines, the colors, the billboards…it’s all about life, swirling all around you. This song in particular is a modern adaptation to one of the most beloved pop songs of the 1960s, “Downtown” by Petula Clark.
This heartfelt rendition of such a timeless tune is also going to be featured on Kate’s most recent studio album, “The Water Is Wide,” and it is one of the highlights of the record, particularly because Kate managed to add her own spin to the song, and approach the arrangement with a distinctively authentic twist. All the while, she stayed true to the dreamy mood of the original songs, but updating the vibes for a modern audience.
