Introducing Omari Banks:

On June 23rd, Anguilla native, former professional athlete, breakthrough reggae star, Omari Banks gave one of Baltimore’s Artscape festival most memorable performance. The reggae singer Omari Banks and his talented band delivered a burst of sunlight to the city of Baltimore. The son of legendary Bankie Banx known as the “Anguillan Bob Dylan”, took the main stage and had the crowd singing and swaying along with soulful songs from his newly released album titled “SUNLIGHT”.

Omari gained worldwide recognition through his professional cricketer career when he became the first Anguillan to play test cricket for the West Indies, and played a significant part in the highest successful fourth-innings chase in Test history. The charismatic “six foot five, dark and handsome, with long dreadlocks and a cool Caribbean style” – Huffington Post, handsome rocker who proudly has taken over the reins to deliver Anguilla Reggae to the international forefront has been making his mark on several continents with his “Jimi Hendrix-reminiscent presence” – BET

Artscape, is America’s largest free arts festival which yearly attracts 350,000+ attendees.

His publicist, Malaika Lepine of MPR Consulting, revealed that the reggae star is slated to release a third video from his new album “Omari has a lot more in store for 2017. Besides another video off Sunlight, Omari was recently nominated for Linkage Award. Best Male Vocalist of the Year.”
