ArtistRack brings to you ‘Keep Your Promises’ by Individualist:
The original idea of “Keep your Promises” was to create an Afrohouse type track with an emotional vibe. So rhythm and sentiment in one. We began by spontaneously adding guitar voicings with deep harmonies. After getting a general song structure we added bass and sent the track to Tiffany in SA. She added a theme and some effects which blended beautifully. I´m a big fan of old blues guys, for example, Sonny Terry, so I thought of doing a call-and-answer scheme between vocals and harmonicas would be really special for a house track. The last touch to get the song moving was recording a topline of shakers and stick with Matthias Philipzen.
