Opus is just that, a huge work of layered sound that begins in the stillness of the womb and expands out to the complex and energetic semi-classical crescendo. Written as a soothing lullaby from mother to child, the song is a map of how to navigate the fraught fairytale paths to successful adulthood. In-so-doing the song acknowledges the human condition – the fears, the choices, the pitfalls, the loneliness – and what to hold onto to feel a deep sense of belonging and purpose. Opus won Silver (for art pop) at the Global Music Awards.
