DePrime introducing brand new single “There Was a Note”

April 2020: DePrime is a band who recently released a brand new studio single, “There Was a Note.” The song is featured on the group’s self-titled studio album, and it sets the bar higher in terms of genre definitions and aesthetics. The track begins with a jangly clean guitar pattern, which makes us think of classic tracks such as Nirvana’s “About A Girl.”

The song eventually delves in a fuzz-driven madness, with creamy melodies that remind us of artists as diverse as Dinosaur Jr. and even Neutral Milk Hotel, only to mention a few. The track strikes us for its instinctive, direct tone, which is even more easy to relate to thanks to the immediacy of this production.

The band initially started off in 2016 with the duo Kevin Gislon and Jon Yorio and was later joined by Nicholas Allison in 2018. This specific release took a year and half to create and today they proudly present it to the world

If you are a fan of artists as diverse as Nirvana, Cloud Nothings, Dead Rituals or Silverchair, DePrime’s music will certainly speak to you.
