Defective Monk brings to us the new album “Dirty Language”
Defective Monk is an artist with a broad creative scope, and a passion for energetic melodies and astonishing production aesthetics. He’s back on the scene with a quality release titled “Dirty Language,” an album featuring a collection of brand new tracks
As the title might imply, this song is uncompromising and unapologetic, blurring the lines between post-industrial music and many other styles. In fact, the title is a self-proclaimed new genre of music itself!
The album tips the hat off to artists like Nine Inch Nails, Thot, or Rammstein, but with a much more aggressive twist. On “Dirty Language,” Defective Monk combines fuzzy sonic landscapes hard-clipping into oblivion with cut-through vocals that make me think of icons as diverse as Tom Waits or Marylin Manson, just to mention a few.
There is a sense of darkness and eeriness, which fuels this release. However, the release is also quite melodic and catchy, with some really cool beats and an overall great production flow. These are aggressive melodies, but they also allow you to move to the rhythm!
