Dave Molter – There Goes My Heart

There Goes My Heart by Dave Molter

I’ve always been influenced by many genres of music. Growing up min the Fifties & Sixties, I was lucky enough to be exposed to music on TV variety shows that simply don’t exist today. Big band, opera, swing, pop, comedy, country. Although my mom called it “hillbilly music,” I always loved country, especially of the Sixties and Seventies. “There Goes My Heart” is a tribute to old school country of that era, particularly Buck Owens and the Bakersfield Sound. Those who know Owens only from his stint on “Hee Haw” don’t really appreciate the motivator and country powerhouse he was. With this tune, I’ve grounded it in the sound of such hits as “Act Naturally.” which was covered by the Beatles. We’ve updated the sound, and Danny Gouchour of Pittsburgh’s Houserockers does a great job channeling Bakersfield.
