Big O - iNSTABiLiTY (Review)

Check out this review of the new album titled  ‘iNSTABiLiTY’ released by Big O

Big O is a Hip-Hop project with a focus on recreating the organic grit of old-school rap, but offering a powerful modern twist. Recently, he unleashed a new release titled iNSTABiLiTY, which really strikes for the attentive production work, and more importantly, for Big O’s amazing vocal delivery and spontaneous lyrics.

This track feels unapologetic and direct, igniting each verse with plenty of energy. However, there is also a lot of melody in the song, almost flirting with some R&B influences. As a result, iNSTABiLiTY is filled with very special nuances, which blurs the lines between various styles, revealing Big O’s massive personality and larger-than-life character.

Highly recommended for fans of Kendrick Lamar, Chance The Rapper, Jay Z or J Cole, only to name a few!

PRESS RELEASE:

“iNSTABiLiTY” is an instrumental album that’s basically about an unstable young man who cannot stay in one place and is completely uncertain about everything that life has to offer. He’s not afraid of taking risk, always searching for something new and is willing to go anywhere he possibly can in order to find himself and his true purpose in this world. With the music in this beat tape, I tried to make each track connect to the character so the listeners can follow and connect to his state of mind.

The inspiration behind this album is basically me making instrumentals to match my particular moods I’ve been feeling lately. The character on the cover is indeed a reflection of myself searching for meaning and peace in this world while using and relaying on music. On this album there are 16 songs, 6 of the beats on here (iMPERFECT VOYAGE, MY PLACE iN THiS WORLD, MY LiFE, NO LOVE iN THiS HOUSE, SPiTTiN’ GAME, THROWiN’ DiCE) are heavily sample based and the other 10 tracks are all original tracks created from scratch with a couple of sample accent drops through out them and a couple of audio excerpt samples from the 2008 movie “Soul Man.” These samples can be found at the end of PREPARE FOR LiFT OFF, NO LOVE iN THiS HOUSE & A THiEF CALLED “TiME”

The track “ANOTHER NEW CREATiON (iNTRO)” is very important to me because it is my way of letting the listeners know that I an aiming to give them something brand new that they haven’t really heard from me before. Before this song kicks off, there is an audio excerpt sample from the “Kraftwerk & The Electronic Revolution” documentary about the German electronic music scene and the piece sample is about about creating something new for the audience.
