Aquarius announces the release of a new studio album: Equinox.
August 2021 – Aquarius is a rock band based in Sydney, Australia. The groupβs sound is incredibly dynamic and diverse, exploring the sonic variety of progressive, while embracing the hard-hitting punch of alternative rock. Aquarius is highly recommended to fans of bands such as Tool, Dead Rituals, Porcupine Tree, and Karnivool, only to mention a few. The bandβs most recent EP is titled βEquinox,β and it features four studio tracks. Staying true to the archetypes of some of the best modern progressive rock records, this release boasts a mercurial and kaleidoscopic sound. Each song has something special to offer, highlighting the bandβs high-level musicianship and remarkable versatility when it comes to composition and arrangements. The opener, βGone Away,β features heavy riffs and nuanced drums, not unlike bands such as Russian Circles.
βEnemies I Called My Brothersβ is melodic and refreshingly minimalistic, while βGodβ brings ambient music and spoken word sounds to the mix. Lastly, βComing Homeβ is a perfect curtain closer, eventually bringing back some heavier sounds, while still retaining a very dark and haunting tone.
