Hot on the tracks of his spring smash hit βSomething Newβ, Tom Tikka releases another single off his upcoming album βRainbows and Dead Flowersβ titled βFire and Iceβ. βFire and Iceβ peaked at #10 on the UK Top 100 singer-songwriter chart on the day of its release (August 18) and gave Tikka his 14th top-ten hit in just a little over seven years.
Written with his former bandmate Antti Autio and produced by Tom Tikka and Janne Saksa, βFire and Iceβ is a story of brothers playing pirates in their bunkbed, sailing their ship towards an imaginary island with countless treasures to discover.
βFire and Iceβ was released on August 18 worldwide with the accompanying music video scripted, filmed, directed and edited by Tomβs wife Elina Suominen.
Tom Tikka, the former Sony/BMG songwriter, best known for his work with Carmen Gray, began his solo career in 2020 and has since released two critically acclaimed albums βThis Is My Happy Faceβ and βBetter Manβ. The former included two #1 hit singles, “Doormat” & βWith Eyes Closedβ, while the latter featured the #2 hit βDone with Bluesβ and βBy 2022β that reached #14 on the charts. Tikkaβs previous single βSomething Newβ peaked at #4 on the UK Top 100 Rock Chart, while his recent collaboration with the British group WILLJACK gave Tom his first transatlantic hit.
