The Scratch: New Single ‘Gladrags’ & 2026 Album ‘Pull Like A Dog’

The Scratch Just Dropped ‘Gladrags’ and It’s a Total Fever Dream

If you’ve been following The Scratch lately, you know they don’t really do “quiet.” Between supporting the Dropkick Murphys across the States, hitting the stage with Dermot Kennedy in Oz, and causing absolute mayhem at Download Festival, the lads have been busy.

But they finally took a breath (sort of) to drop their new single, “Gladrags” and it’s exactly the kind of high-voltage, acoustic-metal chaos we’ve been waiting for.

Acoustic Guitars, Metal Energy

For the uninitiated, describing The Scratch is always a bit of a challenge. Are they a folk band? Are they a metal band? “Gladrags” doesn’t bother answering that—it just hits you over the head with it.

The track was born from a riff inspired by an interview with Tyler, the Creator, which tells you everything you need to know about how these guys think. It’s got that signature percussive drive where Daniel “Lango” Lang sounds like he’s trying to beat his cajon into submission, paired with lyrics that dive into the messy, distracted state of the modern brain.

The “Gladrags” Vibe

The music video is a whole mood of its own. Directed by Colin Peppard, it features the band dressed as 70s-style snooker pros in a hazy, dimly lit club. It’s weird, it’s stylish, and it’s very “Scratch.”

Beyond the style, the song hits on something real—that restless loop of overthinking and the “hot water” you find yourself in when you’re just not paying attention to the world around you.

New Album & Tour: Pull Like A Dog

“Gladrags” is the final taste of their new record, Pull Like A Dog, which officially lands on March 13, 2026.

The title is a bit of a mantra for the band—a “just go for it” attitude that has seen them go from busking on the streets of Dublin to packing out festival tents across Europe. If you haven’t seen them live yet, you’re doing it wrong. They’re hitting the road through April and May across the UK, US, and Australia, before a massive homecoming show at Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on July 4th.

The verdict? “Gladrags” is a banger. It’s loud, it’s frantic, and it’s the perfect primer for what’s shaping up to be their biggest year yet.
