Sammy Frank Interview

Sammy Frank

Sammy Frank has just recently dropped my second EP called “The Prequel”. On this tape he has remixed some of the hottest songs from the past and present, just to give his fans a little something to let them know that he is still putting the work in. “It was fun for me to step away from “concept songs” and focus purely on new slows, and punchlines on familiar beats. Creating something from scratch is always fun, but recreating something differently is a whole different experience. I hope you all get a chance to check it out!”

Where are you from?

Chicago, IL.

How many songs /albums have you released to date?

17 Tracks, 2 EP’s

Can you tell us about your latest release and the background and inspirations behind it?

The latest EP I dropped is called “The Prequel”. It is a short EP where I remixed a few songs from the past and present. This EP was strictly for my fans who already know me as an artist, not to establish myself as one. I wanted to show my loyal followers that I am still working everyday, so I put this quick tape together to show them that, while I work on my future projects. I also put a bonus track on there that will be seen on my upcoming tape this summer/fall 2016. That track is to show current fans and new fans where my sound is headed.

What do you think of the music industry in 2016?

At least on the rap side of things I think it is becoming more about beats and effects, rather than lyrical content. A lot of times you can even understand what the artist is saying.. to me that’s not art.

Who do you think the most influential artist?

J. Cole, G eazy and Wale

What’s your favorite song at the moment?

Kiss the Sky – The Knocks ft Wyclef Jean

What is your favorite saying?

“All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and someone who believes in them”

Do you have any tattoos or piercings?

Yes

Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?

I have an upcoming tape coming out somewhere between the summer and the fall of 2016. That project will be a lot more personal, and easier for listeners to relate to. That project will really give my fans a chance to know me as a person and not just an artist.

Thank you for your time and may you carry on making great, fresh music.

Thank You!
