Queen Dej was born in Windsor, ON, Canada to an ABSENT American Father and a mixed race American ‘mother’.
Growing up between the two countries (Canada/America), going to numerous schools, whilst having a rocky home life, then going into her 20’s dealing with homelessness, more physical, mental and emotional abuse in relationships, she has always turned to hiphop and rnb for comfort.
From growing up in Detroit to high school in Wichita, KS to college in New York city (& Toronto) to now being a resident of Toronto, her musical influences have always ranged.
Being a versatile Hip-Hop artist and naturally knowledgeable force with unfathomable intellectual strength, crafty and witty REAL LIFE lyricism skills, eclectic/classic beat selection and flow, melodies, as well as sickening wordplay…be on the lookout for this QUEEN. *BOOM BAP*
Growing into the melanin queen, she always was, she learned how to love herself first, so she has, for the past few years been putting her ART into fruition and investing in herself as no one else ever has. She owes it all to her great grandmother who molded her before her passing in 2008.
