NYA is a twenty two year old singer/songwriter artfully stumbling through self discovery in her newest EP Southland. Southland transitions NYA into a more adult headspace, while continuing to experiment with genre bending sounds. Whether bearing witness to the destructive need for connection in the classic ballad βShallowβ, reflecting on the extremes of love and desire in the sultry βFor Your Loveβ, or musing about the crude realities behind our dreams in the ethereal βHollywood Hillsβ, she writes and sings with the raw imperfection of authenticity. Original hailing from Florida, NYA splits her time between New York and Los Angeles and is on a never ending quest for evolution. Southland and NYA herself are a refreshing break from the archetypes of modern pop music. At the end of the day Southland is a diary about a girl discovering herself in the jungle that is LA.
