NIA drops the official video for her new release, ‘Rock Kim Style’
NIA is an alternative R&B singer-songwriter/producer based in Philadelphia, PA.
Born in Queens, New York to Trinidadian parents, she began writing songs at the age of 5. Growing up, her main influences were Michael Jackson, Sade, Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder; to name a few. While living in Trinidad as a child, she was also heavily influenced by Calypso and Soca music.
As a youth, she actively wrote songs for her older brother. That creativity then evolved into music production by her junior year of high school. She also began to sing regularly around this time.
While attending Shippensburg University, NIA continued to build her musicality. She began performing locally, and collaborated with several other artists in the area. During her senior year, she founded Chill Room Records.
