NasTheProphet introducing brand new studio single: Directions
May 2020 – NasTheProphet is a rap artist who was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He proudly represents the local scene with a lot of creative and with some outstanding lyrical ideas, which set the bar higher in terms of pathos and articulation.
This artist has been honing his lyrical craft ever since he was only 12 years of age. Although he took a break from music to focus on basketball, and later sports management, eventually he decided to focus on music again, taking it more seriously and with as much motivation as ever. The work definitely paid off, and NasTheProphet managed to come up with a distinctive sound and some inspiring lyrics.
“Directions” is a song about life, and all the roads we all might take. In the end, there is an important realization: it doesn’t really matter where we go, but it’s how we get there. It’s our spirit that eventually is going to make us succeed and achieve our dreams!

Artist Bio
Nasere Porter AKA “NasTheProphet” is an artist born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. While being born and raised in one of the most dangerous cities, I wanted to choose a path that’ll most likely lead to success opposed to choosing the streets and growing up with a dad most likely helped me make the decision that I made. Though I have been writing since I was 12, I stopped because I can never finish a song and started to have a passion for basketball. I played for my first school at Mariana Bracetti Academy High School as a sophomore and started to think I might get somewhere with it but after receiving little to no minutes for the next 3 years, All hope for basketball were gone. I ended up playing AAU and while that coach did better with playing time, The AAU team only had two tournaments and just didn’t continue.
I went to Manor College for a year and a half where I took up sports management before being ineligible to attend the next year due to financial problems. Sports Management was cool at first but after a while I started to get uninterested due to the fact that this was the time I started taking music serious. My Older Brother who goes by the name of Sco(TheFieryRam) made a deal with me one day saying that if I write a song he’ll take me to the studio that he went to. When he told me that I focused real hard and came out with my first song called “Sincerely Nas” which focused on me writing a letter to God saying how I don’t feel noticed. After the compliments that I got on that song I felt motivated to write another song which I completed later called “Directions”.
That song focuses on how I feel stuck and not knowing what path in life to take. I could take one path and be really successful, or I can take another path where I’m just surviving and not living the life I want to live, or I can take the worst path which is the complete failure. I don’t know where I’m suppose to go in life but rapping seems like the best option for me and hopefully it’ll lead me to be the successful person I want to be.
