Monika Vähämäki is no stranger to making music. In fact, she has been writing meaningful and emotional songs ever since she was only a child! Recently, she came out with a stunning new EP titled Förlorad.
Hailing from Stockholm, this talented artist sings in Swidhs and in Finnish, and this track is a great example of her incredible versatility, developed over 20 years of making music. The EP features 4 tracks, including the title track. The production on this EP makes me think of artists as diverse as Fleetwood Mac, as well as Tom Petty, Patti Smith, and even Alanis Morissette, only to to mention a few.
The songs are a perfect blend of rock, with some catchy melodies and a stunning production, which feels fresh, crisp and bright. As an EP, Förlorad is a great example of Monika’s astonishing creativity and vision, going for a blend of modern and old-fashioned aesthetics.
The stunning opening track, “Ditt Kött Mitt Blod,” sets the mood for the entire release. “Vintersång” is one of the most distinctive moments on this EP, while “Innan Allt” strikes for its energetic, yet intimate tone. The title track itself is one of the highlights, and it charms the audience with some intimate melodies.
