Hey, it’s John, PJ, and Josh—but you guys probably know us as Levity.

If you’ve been following our journey from the Chicago scene, you know we’re usually all about that high-energy bass music. But honestly? We’ve never wanted to be put in a box. We love making music that feels good, regardless of the genre. That’s exactly how our new single “Heartbreak” came to life.

From Three Different States to One Chicago Collective

A lot of people ask how we started. Even though the three of us grew up in completely different parts of the country, everything clicked when we landed in Chicago. We’ve been producing music for a long time, but Levity has been our heartbeat for the last six years.

Looking back, 2023 was absolutely wild—easily our biggest year yet—but it felt like just the beginning of the community we’re trying to build here.

Why “Heartbreak” Hits Different

We’ve always been about bringing that “fun energy” to the stage, but with “Heartbreak,” we wanted to show a different side of the project. It’s got those pop sensibilities we love, mixed with the electronic production that’s been our bread and butter since day one.

It’s a bit of a departure from the heavy bass, but it still feels 100% like us. We wanted to create something you could scream along to in your car, but still feel that festival energy when we play it out live.
