Helicopter leaves is a song inspired by recent heart break. Leo finds himself reminiscing to the simple joys he once had shared with a past lover. Specifically in the fall season around Leo’s birthday, in his mind he revisits riding around listening to music and going on walks with his significant other. He acknowledges watching helicopter leaves as they spiral down from the sky, as if it could have foreshadowed a sort of “spiraling down” of his relationship in the near future.
