Sydney-based singer-songwriter Lenken has just dropped his brand new single, “Chains”. This song features Lenken’s signature vocals, lush soundscape, and contemporary production aesthetic.
The lyrics in this release are catchy and memorable. Lenken blurs the lines between pop, electronica, trap, and hip-hop. This showcases his versatility and striking creative flair. He is able to explore different styles and influences, yet he infuses it all with his distinctive and unique style!
The instrumental in “Chains” is multi-layered and atmospheric. It has a strong industrial energy that perfectly enhances Lenken’s smooth and expressive performance. The artist is inspired by acts such as Stevie Wonder and Usher and his fresh blend of electronic-pop recalls the likes of The Weeknd.
Originally from New Zealand, Lenken was in the top ten of the nation’s Idol contest (2006). Following the competition, he relocated to Sydney where he has been working hard on creating original compositions ever since. He has gone from strength to strength, performing in the local gig circuit and opening for big acts such as Ja Rule. He is regularly releasing new music and this new track is just not to be missed.
