Jon Harris – 2022

Jon Harris with the visuals for his new release, ‘2022’

Jon Harris is a hip hop recording artist from New York. He is most known for creating songs with purpose such as “I Don’t Wanna Hear It” where he fearlessly takes aim at the current social communication norms and how people can’t have normal conversations with depth. In 2021 he released “Think of Me” which connects to anyone who has ever felt both love and loss. In the latest installment to his catalog Jon asks one simple question, “What is your goal for 2022?”

On December 31, 2021, New Years Eve, Jon released his latest song “2022 Toast” in which he speaks on his accomplishments, his attitude towards life, and his future plans. In typical Jon Harris fashion he keeps himself grounded to his version of reality and life as he sees it by saying, “I will still live everyday like it’s my f****** last, ‘cause there no telling how far my future goes.” For an artist that typically writes about living outside of reality he shows he also understands the reality of things he can’t control while being consistent on working hard to sculpt the things in his life he can control such as his future. Harris said this song was made from start to finish in a very short period of time, which if anyone knows his process it usually takes weeks before he is ready to release a song. “This song, I think I wrote in one day then recorded a draft that weekend, listened to it, made some adjustments and was quick to record the final draft. It probably in total took 3 days to do everything just spanning over maybe a week and a half; which is incredible because I Don’t Wanna hear it took about 3 months to make. And Big took about 6 from start to finish…”

He quickly made this song for his audience to make sure they were able to hear his question before the new year started. We are here to help get his question out and ask as well. What is your goal for 2022?
