J.V presents: “Because Y’all Waited” EP
April 2022 – He started making music in 2019, and it didn’t take long for him to develop a truly unique and one-of-a-kind sound.
His most recent EP release is titled “Because Y’all Waited.” It serves as a really good introduction to his style, and it has a modern hip-hop twist that might remind the audience of artists such as Cinno, Travis Scott or Future, only to mention a few.
There are six songs, including the explosive opener 613, which has a dark, cinematic introduction, before diving deeper into a massive beat. The second song, “Too Late,” takes the concept to an even further level, with a very brooding and slow-heavy beat that shows the artist’s lyrical artistry. “Off-White” is another banger, with a more melodic vibe and some soulful samples. “Luck & Treasure” continues the melodic streak, using piano arpeggios and a fast-paced beat based on some cutting hat rolls and a big bass drum.
“Count My Bands” is perhaps a highlight here, with its big 808 bass tones and the deep soundscapes. Last, but not least, “Apollo” is the perfect closing track, and it will make you want more.
