Interview with Realist Omega:
Signed underground Hip Hop artist signed with Real MVP Music.
Where are you from?
Chicago,IL
How long have you been making music?
18 plus years. I haven’t gotten serious about making music till 2016 which resulted in two mixtapes, being signed to Real MVP Music formerly known as IBMG in mid 2017.
How many songs /albums have you released to date?
Six singles including this one, with the first one being “Dreams & Ambitions” the second single was “Just Listen” the third single was “Loyalty” the fourth single being “At This Moment” the fifth being “Turn To God” which was recently released less than two weeks before my sixth and current single was released which is this very song “Swangin From My Nutts”.
Can you tell us about your latest release and the background and inspirations behind it?
“Swangin From My Nutts” which is a crazy song title and many people will assume it’s about my nutts but it isn’t. It’s actually a song directed at my abusive ex who put me through a lot and let’s just say I really have a lot more sympathy for women who have been in or are in abusive relationships. I wrote this song on impulse and as a way of venting the heavy emotions she put me through at the time I wrote this song which was two years ago, but this version has a different instrumental and certain lines has been changed. Due to her harassment and her constantly having the audacity to ask me why I left her, this song answered it.
How have you ended up in the music industry?
Due to the constant support of now label mate (Tha Sandman NKPG) and being quietly scouted by the label CEO James Robinson and also all the work I have done with my mixtapes that lead to me being signed.
What do you think of the music industry in 2018?
Aside from the mumble rap trend that’s being oversaturated in mainstream Hip Hop sometimes out numbering the songs that has more substance in them, I think eventually like all trends it will eventually die out and all that will be left are real musicians.
Who do you think the most influential artist?
I can say it’s a toss up between J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar, I know there are more pure lyricists in the mainstream but those two stand out since they have meaningful music and doing numbers aside the mumble rap bullshit that’s being played.
Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?
Label mate Tha Sandman NKPG on the song “Real MVP Music” which was released in mid January of this year.
How do you think you differ from other artists?
Something that makes me stand out would be my voice and the fact that I care way too much about the music and where it seems to be heading.
Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?
Bone Thugs N Harmony, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, 2 Pac, Big Pun, Royce da 5’9, Three 6 Mafia, J.Cole. There are others but these artists are the first to come to mind.
What was the first album you bought?
The first album I bought was Krayzie Bone’s debut album “Thug mentality 1999” after listening to that album, I began writing music.
What’s your favourite song at the moment?
My favorite song at this moment is “Bad Husband” by Eminem.
If you had to sell your music collection tomorrow, what album would you leave in your draw?
I would keep Nas’s “Illmatic” or Bone thugs n harmony’s album “E 1999 Eternal”
What is your favourite saying?
My favorite saying is “If you have haters you’re doing something right”
What other hobbies or interests do you have?
The only hobby I have is playing video games, especially GTA 5.
Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
The only tattoo I have is half of a tribal sleeve that is partially ruined due to a bite mark from the ex girlfriend I directed this song at.
Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?
This song is on the upcoming debut album “Hip Hop Protagonist” along with three of my other singles minus “Dreams & Ambitions” and “Loyalty” It will be released soon. Just check out realmvpmusic.com for any updates.
What’s in the pipeline after this project?
When my first album finally comes out I will be working on the second album in advance and maybe some collabs. Maybe a music video for one of my songs at some point.
Thank you for your time and may you carry on making great, fresh music.
Thank You
