Interview with ‘Figguhlator’
Upcoming Miami rapper “Figguhlator” speaks with ArtistRack about his debut Single “Head Poppa”!
Where are you from?
Miami, Florida
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music since high school, that’s the farthest back i could recall myself recording songs, so around 9 to 10 years
How many songs /albums have you released to date?
Currently i have 3 records professionally released
Can you tell us about your latest release and the background and inspirations behind it?
my latest record is called “HEAD POPPA”, its a srip club record, a Stadium anthem, a workout/gym record, makes people want to do S**t, and be active, the background and inspirations behind it is self explanatory, its about being in charge, and having others know it, and tell you about it. head poppa meaning the One In Charge
How have you ended up in the music industry?
i ended up in the music industry by working around and learning the different components that have to move in sync in order to become a successful musician, like marketing, public relations and recording studio services, when i was young i was a DJ, so i organically gain love for music due to that
What do you think of the music industry in 2018?
Today’s industry is growing, and labels aren’t paying attention to Unpackaged artists or artists with no Direction so i would say its doing Very Well. Even if your music isn’t the top notch best, if you have the image, personality and direction you can fly pass any another artist with an actual budget
Who do you think the most influential artist?
Any artist who was told “NO”, and continued to strive and actually got a Partnership with a major label is the most influential, and that is a lot of rappers
Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?
I have Zero collaborations at this time in my career, that is soon to change as the year ends
How do you think you differ from other artists?
My energy is always explosive dusing my performances, regardless of how many publications i release im still a human first, so im down to earth and approachable which most artists are not, S**t my choice of clothing makes me stand out Itself
Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?
Im from miami so its every dade county artists dream to get that Rozay Feature. Rick Ross!
What was the first album you bought?
First and ONLY album i bout in my lifetime was Plies, real testament i Beleive, i forgot the name of which one i got but i specifically remember buying it from FYE
What’s your favourite song at the moment?
“Head Poppa”
If you had to sell your music collection tomorrow, what album would you leave in your draw?
I have no music collection at the moment but if i did, i would sell everything except that Figguhlator
What is your favourite saying?
“Figguhlator” of course, its a noun that can be used to describe things, i use it unknowingly
What other hobbies or interests do you have?
Recording is hands down my favorite hobby, all my interests are revolved around live performances, meet and greets, and interviews like this one
Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
I have 42 Individual bricks tatted on my entire chest, no piercings
Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?
right now im releaseing singles only, head poppa is gaining steam everyday we chack the numbers, so we are running with this record before we reopen the Music vault
What’s in the pipeline after this project?
I have two more singles, im sure we will repeat the same street campaign pattern as we are doing with head poppa, after that im taking major label meetings with my team to expand
