ArtistRack catches up with ‘Buzzy Wo’ for this exlusive interview and insight into the latest release ‘AF1 ERA’

How long have you been making music?

23 years

How many songs /albums have you released to date?

I’ve released countless mixtapes an songs on a Street level, “AF1 ERA” will be the first main stream body of work to date, 2 or 3 singles.

Can you tell us about your latest release and the background and inspirations behind it?

“AF1 ERA” is envisioned as a groundbreaking hip-hop album that pays homage to the iconic Nike Air Force 1 sneakers while capturing the essence of the era when hip-hop culture first took flight. The project aims to blend nostalgia with modern innovation, creating a sonically rich and immersive experience for listeners. Each track will encapsulate the essence of hip-hop’s golden era while presenting fresh perspectives and storytelling that resonate with today’s audience.

How did you first get into music, and what inspired you to pursue a career in it?

I’ve always been musical it’s in my dna, an has always been apart of my life. I had started producing beats about 12-13 an ran with a local hip hop group called the ATTIC.
Dreams without ambition are only an illusion an I feel as though now is the time to translate those feelings to the world an even though life’s trials an tribulations I’ve never lost focus of who I was an wear I wanted to be as an artist.

What do you think of the present music industry?

I love it it’s a translation of the many personalities there are in the game. You can’t have good without bad, so I believe it right we’re it should be.

Who are some of your biggest musical influences and how have they impacted your music?

Awww man we’re do I start, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Prince as far a hip hop Scarface is the top dog for me but I have an extensive list of artists that have that I love way to many to list.

What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a musician and how have you overcome them?

May of 2021 I was arrested a week prior to the Release of KING LUNARS debut EP “Welcome to the Wimbledon”. Just recently being signed to my label BAYSIDE ACOA, we pushed through exhausted funds constant grinding Scratched an began to make our mark on the music industry getting a Co-Sign from Cassidy Da Hustler world renowned battle rapper.

How has your music evolved over the course of your career, and where do you see it going in the future?

I feel my music has evolved as I have as a person. My core vibrational stat is a reflection of my feelings about life or the world, the more in tune with my self I become the more competitive I become with myself constantly elevating in the same space. The Future is NOW !!! Lol

Songbird TheGoddess, Boney Mayana, Coreykite$, Jahlill Beats, Cassidy, Milly Flights, Lil Dirty Cup

Can you describe your creative process and what goes into making a song or album?

It’s really a process of life for me for real, I often write in my head throughout the day piecing songs together. It’s a creative process with no directions time people an places really dictate how my music is being made. If I have time to put a beat on while cleaning the house cooking working etc I allow the juices to flow organically pulling word here putting words there, just allowing myself to be captivated by the instrumental/ beat.

Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?

The album will feature a diverse array of high-quality production styles that fuse classic hip-hop beats with contemporary elements. I intend to collaborate with talented and visionary producers to create a cohesive sound that embodies the spirit of hip-hop’s golden era while appealing to modern audiences. The lyrics will be carefully crafted, demonstrating poetic depth, social consciousness, and emotional authenticity.
