Interview with Angelic Siren

New and upcoming artist Angelic Siren provides the younger generation a new way to appreciate and understand music in today’s society. Born Robert Hicks, the 28 year old New York native has been currently working on his EP, and also has two successful businesses. One of his companies, Angelic Siren Music Group, LLC, provides written songs to aspiring music artists that are moving forward in the music world. The other company provides childcare to local families in the greater New York areas.

Angelic Siren has performed in multiple cities, including California, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. His songs are also on multiple music sites that include Tidal, Spotify and ITunes. The name “Angelic Siren” originated from family and friends that always referred to his voice as “angelic” and sounding like a special angel from heaven. In the future, Angelic Siren will be working towards creating a non-profit organization that will help support those who have been through domestic violence, child abuse, suicide and depression. This affects many Americans on a daily basis, and this foundation will help those who are in need.

What is your name? Robert Hicks

Where are you from? i was born in New York, But I grew up in several different states.

How long have you been making music? I have been writing for 17 years

How many songs /albums have you released to date? I currently have one song released, but I’m in the studio working on a new music. I am excited about the future songs I am working on.

Can you tell us about your upcoming release and the background and inspirations behind it? My song “What I wanted” is about a dark time in my when I was in love with someone and they cheated on me the night I buried my mother. What I wanted is a letter to my ex letting them know I how I felt. I am so grateful to my friend and writer of what I wanted we walked and talked and he helped me get my emotions out on paper.

How have you ended up in the music industry? I felt it was time I took my time to study it find out how I want to show myself to the world and the type of music I wanted to write.

What do you think of the music industry in 2015? I think the music industry is a lesson. There is a lot of things people don’t know. It’s a very tough industry. You can not have soft skin in the music industry.

Who do you think the most influential artist? Tamia without a doubt definitely Tamia!

Who have you collaborated with so far in your career? I am still in the studio haven’t done any music with anyone else yet, but I want to collaborate with this artist name Bryn’t, I like the way he flows.

Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration? There are so many to choose from, but Maxwell I would absolutely love to collaborate with.

What was the first album you bought? Kelly Rowland Simply deep a great album.

What’s your favorite song at the moment? Jhene Aiko Remember very beautiful song.

Who is the most influential artist now, and 10 years ago? Maxwell, Wow his song lifetime still touches me.

If you had to sell your music collection tomorrow, what album would you leave in your draw? Full Moon

How do you think you differ from other artists? I am very determined not saying other artist aren’t I work hard and I don’t stop until I succeed. The important thing for me is that I sing for my soul from my emotions.

What is your favorite saying? Failure is when you give up its not by how many rejections you receive.

What other hobbies or interests do you have? sky diving, mountain climbing camping reading books in the park.

Do you have any tattoos or piercings? Yes, I have 12 tattoos each

Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project? I am working on doing a music video, and I am currently in the studio working on new music..

What’s in the pipeline after this project? To continue making music,and continue to build my brand. Start a non profit helping people who are battling suicide tendency, depression, abuse (sexual, and physically).
