A fan of the music of Michael Jackson, Prince, Ray Charles, James Brown, Tony Bennett, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Charlie Wilson, Kem, Van Morrison and Tom Jones, among others, Ian Guerin, 24, presents his Jazz infused, R&B/Soul driven and lyrically Blues oriented New Single “Cry”.
A song dedicated to his short-lived romance with a girl that lived in his neighborhood, Guerin wrote the song three years after the relationship ended and lyrically explored his feelings of sadness, obsession, paranoia, separation anxiety and recovery.
“Cry” was produced by Ian Guerin’s longtime friend/producer/colleague/singer/songwriter Azhmir Vangort at Vangort Soundworks in the Springbreak of 2015.
Musically, the song’s production doesn’t lack or exceed in its arrangement. Production rides elegantly through R&B /Soul and Jazz piano harmonies, and violins that mark the intention of the melody and words. Though it has been out for only 15 days Guerin’s “Cry” has already managed to make a Top 40 (#31) debut on the R&B iTunes Charts in the USA and a Top 20 Chart Appearance on three BEAT 100 U.K. Charts (World Chart #18, Original Chart #14 and #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop Chart). It has also earned Three Awards on BEAT 100 U.K.
