Hood Boy Legend has just released his hip-hop track “Traumatized”.
The artist is a hip-hop rapper based in Luverne, Minnesota. In his music, Hood Boy Legend draws on inspiration from legendary rap artists such as Lil Wayne, Drake, and Future, to mention but a few contemporary rappers.
In his new track, Hood Boy Legend starts with a smooth and atmospheric hip-hop intro. These old-school beats recall classic rappers such as Tupac, Biggie Smalls, and A Tribe Called Quest. However, the rhythm, instrumental, and production mix is on point and contemporary. You can immediately tell that Hood Boy Legend is influenced by a variety of artists and that his musical approach is distinctively his own.
Even though the lyrics of “Traumatized” are quite dark and introspective, the vibe of the track is chilled and laid-back. This contrast is interesting and captivating. Once you listen to “Traumatized” a few times you can look past the evocative vocal performance and catchy hooks and see just how many layers Hood Boy Legend has as a recording artist.
