Christine Alicia – Riches

ArtistRack brings to you ‘Riches’ by the talented Christine Alicia:

Christine Alicia is a singer-songwriter from Southern California with an incredible vocal range. She’s known for honestly representing the highs and lows of life in a way that’s authentic yet encouraging. Her musical influences include Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Tori Kelly, and Jewel.

Christine’s newest song, “Riches” comes from getting scammed online. Someone posed as a client for her web design business stole so much money from her that she couldn’t afford groceries for weeks.

“At first I was mad and wanted to get even. I couldn’t believe someone could do something like that to a ‘starving artist’ so to speak,” says Christine.

But instead of retaliating, Christine chose to forgive the thief.

“I had a revelation that—actually—I have some things tucked in my heart that no person can ever take away from me,” Christine explains, “While they were chasing money at all costs, I still had precious jewels like my friends and family, my dog, my relationship with God, and my character. I realized I’ve got riches money can’t buy.”

Christine’s fierce voice over edgy guitar and punchy drums drives the point home: while it certainly doesn’t feel good to get burned, something greater can come from the situation.

“Riches” is becoming an anthem for anyone who’s been treated unfairly but doesn’t want to let that negative experience get to the core of who they are. It’s written in such a way that anyone can relate to the story and join Christine in singing, “I’ve got riches money can’t buy.”
