Alf the Great is an artist, musician and producer with a focus on indie music. Built around acoustic instrumentation and arpeggiated melodies, his style is heavily influenced by artists such as Frank Ocean, Jarryd James and Tyler, The Creator. As a proud Kalkadungu man of Mt. Isa he also draws musical inspiration from the customs and people of his culture, most notably his uncle William Barton.
Off of the back of his single, “Rejoice”, Alf the Great released his 2020 album, “Journey”. The album highlights the experiences that encourage the transition between conformity and self-identity. Although acoustic at its core, Alf accentuates feeling through semi-synthetic sounds and sampled instruments. With features such as Alana pepe, T33 and Quinta, “Journey” has enabled Alf to gain production credits branching outside his own work. Some of these credits include Quinta’s “Bowie Empire”, as well as an upcoming EP from Blak Label Music.
