D. Anthem presents his exciting new single, ‘Elephant in the Room’
New York bred artist D. Anthem a.k.a “Raps Robin Hood” is inarguably one of the most innovative and cutting edge upcoming artists in the game. He was born in the slums of Staten Island but nurtured by Brooklyn, known for his nomadic nature, he has lived in all 5 boroughs in his life time. A product of the “golden era” raised on Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Pop, & Rock in the rough streets of N.Y.C. which has helped to forge his eclectic sound. He started rhyming from elementary school then went on to the High School lunch room battles with his cousin(rap partner) as a dynamic duo called “The Dynasty” and after building their reputation through winning several battles, he decided to perfect his craft by composing full songs. Music was instrumental in keeping him from the allure of street life for a while until eventually he got caught by the seduction of the streets in a more organized crime fashion, losing one of he right hand friends to murder shortly followed by his cousin(rap partner) being sentenced to a 20yrs to life sentence for an alleged murder in revenge.
After the several close calls to death and incarceration he decided to pursue and channel his passion and pain into music, hence is why his mantra “turning water into wine aka turning pain into champagne” comes from. D. Anthem has released a mixtape(“No Retreat, No Pretender”) which he has debut in the UK and the caribbean and also within the
Tri-State area as well in efforts building a vast & universal fan base. Also with such a rich history of life experience many classify his music as “Life’s Sound Track”.
His out the box approach to hip hop makes him a pioneer of his generation, fusing music and real life experiences with lyrics that display skill and versatility.
Many say his musical sound is like a time machine that takes them on a journey through past, present, and future with epic variety.
D. Anthem’s witty execution and heart felt delivery gives him mass appeal and wins the ears of his listeners.
