Nooky drops his new single “Don’t Do” featuring the Legendary Boosie Badazz
When a music artist first gets a taste of the stage, it sets off a trigger for motivation like no other. More shows come, the fan base grows, and they become a representation for all who support them. In the case of 25- year-old Nooky, he hails from one of Hip Hop’s prominent areas of the culture’s representation.
Eric Jermaine Hendrix Jr., known as “Nooky”, has a familiar story when it comes to his path in the music industry. Originally born in the Midwest, in Michigan, he instead grew up in Dallas Texas. Expressing himself through writing over music became a hobby but soon took a serious turn once he noticed his peers’ reactions.
The name “Nooky” became his alias unexpectantly. One of his toughest decisions was choosing an alias that would make him stand out amongst the crowd. His number one supporter, his mother, told him to use Nooky. In his own words, “once it came time to pick a name and I couldn’t choose one, I just went back to the basics and stuck with the name Nooky”.
Nooky dedicates his influence for his talent to his family and his closest friends that have been supportive through his path. By just being able to be himself and express how he feels is what has always drawn him to creating music. He has a story that goes back to when he was just 11 years old recording his first song. With one of his best friends, they created a makeshift studio using his friend’s closet, a desktop computer, and a simple pair of headphones from the local general store. Nooky is self-made for this industry.
Currently, Nooky is promoting a rising hit single titled “Don’t Do It”, produced by ShunOnDaBeat and featuring Louisiana Native and Southern Hip Hop icon Boosie (formerly known as Lil Boosie). This single was particularly chosen because of its catchy hooks, impeccable production, and of course, a feature with one of the South’s greatest to ever turn up a club venue. Nooky hopes this release will bring him his big break, through all the hard work and determination he has put in, and his unexpected alias will become a well- known name amongst the Hip Hop culture. “MY GOALS ARE FOR IT TO GO #1 AND TO HIT OVER A MILLION STREAMS…”
In the past, he is well noted for his first big performance at SMU opening for southern Hip Hop Legend Juicy J and opening for Lil Dickey at the Toyota Music Factory in Texas. Nooky is currently working on an album project that’s to embody his full lyrical talent through his personal thoughts, emotions, and life..
