TRAPERS is a music project hailing from Melbourne, Australia. Their sound s a powerful blend of pop and indie music, combining catchy melodies with energetic arrangements and unique tones.
Recently, they brought a new project to life, a single named “Take It Slow.” On this release, TRAPERS showcase their ability to come up with impactful hooks and memorable song arrangements. The music immediately makes me think of artists like Son Lux, Glass Animals, or Active Child. The melodies are catchy and understated, yet there is a nice darker mood, which really brings something unique to this particular release. The stunning piano melodies in the intro are perfect to channel the artist’s varied approach, and when the vocals hit, this is where it truly gets interesting. “Take It Slow” has a really bittersweet vocal style, channeling melody and emotion in equal doses. There is a veiled sense of melancholy to this release.
However, this is still a pop-driven track that doesn’t get overly gloomy or depressive. It is really a nice alt-pop gem, with a personal tone and a very forward-thinking style.
