SAMIJAY is a driven, forward-thinking and dynamic music project from NYC. Their sound blurs the lines between acoustic pop, funk, blues and R&b, with stunning melodies, infectious grooves and magnetic vocal performances.
The project consists of Julia Aponte (aka Julia Solo) as well as Samantha Frank (also known as Sami Jo). The two musicians immediately connect with their chemistry, and their musical backgrounds collided into something truly extraordinary.
Their recent studio single is a heartfelt and engaging track titled ’Silly Love Song”. This release makes me think of the casual and laid-back vibes of artists such as Norah Jones, Ben Harper or Jack Johnson, but with a stronger affinity for soulful vocals and lively beats. This song has everything you might want in a perfect pop hit: it has relatable lyrics, catchy melodies, stunning arrangements and crystal-clear production values.

Samijay is a songwriting and production duo who became friends while working at a music studio. Members Julia Aponte (Julia Solo) and Samantha Frank(Sami Jo) combine to bring you some amazing music written and produced themselves. Audiences will be amazed by the musicianship talents of Julia Solo who plays guitar, piano, drums, and bass. Combined with her songwriting and singing partner Sami Jo, who is compared to her early influences, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, and Anita O’Day. Samijay’s album, Melodies in My Head, will be released this year on J&R Entertainment.
While working for a studio Sami Jo and Julia Solo became aware of their talents, when Julia Solo presented Sami Jo with an original track she had been working on. Within the hour, a song was written by Sami Jo, recorded, and these two talents realized how great they work together. Five songs collaborating, the ladies decided it’s time to share their creations and talents with the world. The birth of Samijay. These original recordings will be on the upcoming album Melodies in My head. Robert Young says he hasn’t witness a team who’s work and creative talents, can be compared to great duos like L.A. and Babyface and Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam.
