Mark Hamilton introducing brand new version of Black Hole Sun (as made famous by Soundgarden)
July 2020 – Mark Hamilton is a singer and songwriter based in London, UK. He has a strong connection with the alternative rock scene of the 90s, and in particular, he is a big fan of artists such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, as well as Soundgarden.
Recently, he started out a brand new project that’s meant to raise awareness on suicide. He decided to release some cover songs from artists who sadly fell victim of suicide and drug abuse. His most recent cover is a heartfelt rendition of “Black Hole Sun,” by Soundgarden.
The track is a tribute to the late great Chris Cornell, who tragically died by suicide in 2017. The cover stays true to the original, but adds a more melodic twist, reflecting Mark’s distinctive style. The cool thing of this cover is that he is not actually trying to copy Chris Cornell. On the contrary, he is going for a more personal touch, reflecting his personal connection with the track.
