Sammy Frank Interview

Sammy Frank

I am a 20 year old artists that goes by the name of Sammy Frank. I am sponsored by the young clothing company “BurnPlenty Clothing”. Recently I’ve been making music that sets you in the party scene. Although I am from the Midwest, I would say my music has more of an east coast style to it. My biggest musical inspirations would probably be Kid Ink, J. Cole, G Eazy and Ace hood. Even though those are 4 completely different artists, they all inspire my style, outlook, or flow a little bit in some way. Currently, I am working on building my brand as an artist as well as my sponsorship, BurnPlenty Clothing.

Where are you from?

The suburbs of Chicago, IL.

How long have you been making music?

I have been seriously making music for about 2 years now.

How many songs /albums have you released to date?

I released my first 4 song EP called “The Solo Cup Kid” last year, since then I have released 4 additional songs.

Can you tell us about your latest release and the background and inspirations behind it?

My latest release was a single called “Over” featuring my close friend Kemrin. Basically the track puts you in the shoes of a single guy going out looking to have some fun. He sees a girl that stands out to him and he wants to see what shes about, but only for the night. Once the night ends, his relationship with that girl does too.

How have you ended up in the music industry?

I started writing poetry when I was younger and as I got older and developed a greater appreciation for music, I put the two together. Every time I’ve thought about “what I wanna do when I’m older” music is the only thing I can see myself fully pursuing.

What do you think of the music industry in 2016?

I think it’s becoming more about beats and effects than lyrical content. At least in this Genre. There are plenty of songs that have hit the top charts that you can’t even understand what the artist is saying.

Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?

Kemrin & Kidd Kyle

Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?

If I could I would collab with Pharrell, I think he adds a dope touch to every track hes on.

What’s your favorite song at the moment?

Fashion Killa by Asap Rocky. I love fashion and girls who know how to dress well.

Thank you for your time and may you carry on making great, fresh music.

Thank you
