ArtistRack brings to you ‘Freaky People’ by Poppy Roscoe
“Freaky People” is told from the perspective of a suburbanite who gets involved in hippie-culture and eventually converts to being a full beatnik. Written by Izzy Fortune, Poppy Roscoe was recently reformed as a three-piece with Izzy Fortune on Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, Jake Smith on Drums/Percussion, and Adam Pena on Lead Guitar (Electric and Acoustic). The main riff was written on a guitar that only had the bottom three strings. Uniquely, the track features an original classical guitar solo performed by Adam Pena. “Freaky People” is influenced by 90’s Garage Rock. The song’s music video was animated by Izzy Fortune after learning to animate over a summer.
