We catch-up with Minneapolis, Minnesota’s own Luminati DaGod for this exclusive interview.

What is your name?   Luminati DaGod.

Where are you from?   Minneapolis,Minnesota.

How long have you been making music?   Over 10 Years.

How many songs /albums have you released to date?   One Album,1 Mixtape,Plenty of songs.

Can you tell us about your upcoming release and the background and inspirations behind it?   My next release will be in June, Title of album will be called Rhymes Before The Rapture, It’s basically a Album based on my life and social issues in America and Hip Hop as,a culture.

How have you ended up in the music industry?   I’v been a child of Hip Hop all my life,but didn’t get serious until I was incarcerated with the brother of a famous artist and he seen me writing and showed me how to articulate my lyrics,then I met a close friend who helped me showcase my talent.

What do you think of the music industry in 2015?   It’s grown alot,So many great indie artist, so many blog sites, it’s definitely easier than before to get your music out.

Who do you think the most influential artist?   I’d say Kendrick Lamar.

Who have you collaborated with so far in your career?   No one worth mentioning.

Dead or alive, who would be your dream collaboration?   Tupac Shakur most definitely.

What was the first album you bought?   I bought a Vanilla Ice album when I was a kid,that was the first album I bought, I saved up for it too…

What’s your favourite song at the moment? “Alright” by Kendrick Lamar.

Who is the most influential artist now, and 10 years ago? I’d have to say Jay Z.

If you had to sell your music collection tomorrow, what album would you leave in your draw?   Nas Stillmatic.

How do you think you differ from other artists?   I’m honest,I’m comfortable saying my music is a reflection of me as a individual.   I’m not a gimmick.

What is your favourite saying?   God works in mysterious ways.

What other hobbies or interests do you have?   I love to read and collect books.

Tell us more about your upcoming project or this new project?   This album will be personal because I will share my personal life as well as my social perceptions,my dreams,hopes,fears and doubts. It will be an honest album.

What’s in the pipeline after this project?   Promote this album,get on as many blogs as I can,write more songs,more shows.
