November 2020 – Kate Magdalena’s new EP is a stunning studio record titled “In The Bleak Midwinter.” This year has been quite dark and daunting for a lot of people. Words like “bleak” definitely come to mind, but there is always a light at the end of the darkest night. These beautiful six songs are hopeful and gorgeous, giving listeners hope and brightness.

The opening track, “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear, is truly charming and engaging, going for a big, cinematic sound. Christmas is the best time of the year, and the way this holiday brings people together is truly unparalleled. “The Christmas Song” is a classic that perfectly represents this positive feeling, and so is “Cherry Tree Carol,” another emotional track. “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” is another stunning song with a classic flair, showcasing Kate’s range and versatility. The EP’’s mesmerizing title track is one of the highlights of this release, but the closing number, a heartfelt rendition of “Silent Night, Holy Night,” is quite special in its own right.
